The online gambling industry was on an all time high between the years 2001 to 2006. There were a variety of payment options for the USA Players which included the deposits from credit cards, online vendors such as PayPal or online money transfers from NETeller etc. There was money being brought in from all the corners of the US subcontinent and separate financial sections were dedicated for the USA casinos. However, the most recent government activities have put a stop to the online income. This has restricted a lot of American players and a majority of the USA Sportsbooks have suffered massively. In the late 2006, the US congress passed a regulation against internet gambling and called it unlawful. This was done to stop online gambling for the USA players. Instead of stopping the players from betting online, the government targeted all the banks that were responsible for processing payments for the gamblers. It was then pronounced to be illegal to send money to NETeller and even Paypal dropped out of the online casino market.
Furthermore, the credit card companies stopped processing payments for gamblers in the United States and this left no option for the players to deposit money into the online casinos. Hence, then started a norm that the online casinos wouldn’t allow the USA players to bet on their sites in order to comply with the government rules. However, this led to a decline in the traffic hitting these online casinos and leading to the decrease in the overall revenue. Thus newer options have now surfaced the market and payment methods such as e-check are being allowed by USA Friendly Casinos in order to encourage USA players.
